Northside at Taos Ski Valley
was Incorporated the first day of 2006 by your hosts Roger and Kerrie
Pattison and Christof Brownell. Since then they have developed the
business plan in order to be open this winter and summer. For seven
years prior to that Roger and Christof spent many days exploring
routes
and pioneering ski
runs, then actively thinning and grooming those runs.
In the beginning, Orville Pattison settled in with his family
from the farmlands of eastern New Mexico to get away from the summer
heat on the plains. He had plenty of sons to run the family farm
while he stayed in the cool pines and built roads and access. Orville
never did experience winter living and playing in the mountains,
even after Ernie Blake came along and introduced the idea. His
grandson Roger, (with his wife Kerrie) are part of the day to day
operations at Northside. They live in the ski valley year around
and also promote summer activities in the Village. See more about
the Pattison history at www.taosskivalleyland.com
Christof grew up living in Taos Ski Valley working with his family
as owner/operators of the legendary Thunderbird Lodge. Christof
has always skied and snowboarded avidly and has a rare talent for
playing unique and original music. See more about Christof on www.christofbrownell.com
The three each have a full time commitment to the success of Northside. |
