Mountain bike rentals are available in Taos at: Cottam's Ski & Outdoor Mountain Bike Rental Available: $35 per day; $25 per half-day. Gearing Up Bicycle Shop Gearing Up offers a fleet of Trek 6000 disc brake front suspension mountain bikes and hybrid bikes (in all sizes). They even offer tandem bike rentals. The rental rate is $35 per day and $25 per half-day. With a rental you get the use of a helmet, pump, lock, seatpack with tube, tirelevers, and patch kit, flat prevention in the tubes, trail or road route information, and a free Gearing Up waterbottle. They also rent car racks for $5 per day. Reduced multiple day rental rates are also offered: Gearing Up also has Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert full - suspension mountain bikes and Specialized road bikes as demos. The demo rate is $45 per day for road bikes and $50 per day for full-suspension mountain bikes, refundable with the purchase of a bicycle. It is usually recommended that a reservation be made in advance if possible to ensure that the bike(s) you need will be available.
