The highest goal of all
the staff at Northside is to create an experience for our guests
that will always be remembered. We hope you will enjoy your time
here and return again and again, bringing family and friends with
you.
You should expect to enjoy fresh powder turns in the gladed trees
on our north facing slopes. The powder is there for you, undisturbed,
staying soft in the shade of tall pines. As you glide smoothly
down the slopes, the only sounds you hear are the whoops and hollers
from your buddies right behind you. When the snow gets tracked
out, we will give the slopes a rest until the next storm passes.
Once you have made your reservation, you will be
able to print out an e-mail confirmation to bring with you and
present to the
shuttle driver. Our shuttle will pick you up in the
core area of
the
Village
of
Taos Ski Valley and deliver you and your gear
to the warming hut at Northside’s base area.
At this point you will be instructed and/or tested in the use
of an avalanche beacon. Your gear will be checked out, and you
will get a test run to check your level of confidence in the conditions.
From there we will travel by wide-track snowmobiles to the runs.
As you are guided to the freshest snow, you will descend back to
the warming hut or to another of several pick up points for more
of the same.
We will go from about 10am until a little after 4pm. At lunch
time, we will have a delicious sandwich and hot and cold
drinks. Expect to get six to ten runs in a
day. We have experienced guides on staff that will safely lead
you to the best slopes for the day.
Most weeks we will be open three days, unless snow conditions allow
more frequent tours.
Don’t forget we can also set you
or other members of your party up with a guided high alpine snowmobile
tour and specially catered, full moon, yurt camping accommodations.
